Steve & Bobbie Clark

Ecuador

Steve and Bobbie Clark have been serving God in Latin America for over 35 years. Steve was saved at age 19 in Southern California and Bobbie was saved at age 16, through the work of missionaries in Okinawa, where she was born. Steve and Bobbie went through the same Missionary training Institute, although Steve was 4 years ahead of her. He served 4 years in Central and South America, and when home on furlough met Bobbie and they married. They returned to Guatemala, and then Honduras, where they served for 20 years, working with evangelistic outreaches, Bible schools, and supporting the already existing churches. Steve ministered mostly the Holy Spirit, faith and healing.

The Clarks have been living in Cuenca, Ecuador for 13 years now. Through the use of a God-inspired Salvation Encounter, they have been reaching the city of Cuenca. This method of evangelism has been the key to reaching their city. After going through a 3 day Encounter with Jesus, attendees come out with a clear understanding of salvation, have been delivered and healed from traumas, freed from the bondage of their traditions and filled with the Holy Spirit. They are raising up a church with 400 members and 6 home groups. Their budding church is active in Praise and Worship, Children’s ministry, Youth ministry, Women’s and Men’s discipleship.

The Clarks also have a vision to build a retreat camp on 12 acres of land, The Breath of God. It will be a place to separate from the world and sit under Spirit-filled teaching and to equip the saints for ministry. The camp will house 200 people at a time. Other outreaches will include youth retreats, 2 week seminars, and the Encounters. Steve is presently building the Administrators home as well as their own home using a new concept of an interlocking brick, which they are also making, and will be used in all the buildings. Planned workshops include teaching skills to the youth such as carpentry, mechanics, farming and cooking. The camp grounds will become self-supporting through the fruit trees, farming and fish project.

The Clarks’ focus is on discipleship and counseling – teaching others to teach others!
